I recommend this more for a running errands type of day when you want color and/or a punch of color but don't want to do a full lip or use lip stick. Beware though because they are super thick and kind of sticky.Ladies don't drive with the windows down with this stuff on because the product will end up in your hair! Because it is thick it does last longer than other formulas but be prepared for your lips to be sticky. I'm more of a lip stick girl but for glosses these are great. They are bold and pretty true to what you see in the container. It’s available now at MAC counters everywhere or grab it at lip glosses have AMAZING pigmentation. You might want to purchase it for collector’s though but the formula isn’t anything to write home about. I didn’t expect major bling but I did expect something a little more elegant for Brooke’s Collection, this is just, mmm, boring?Īll in all MAC Artful Lipglass is a nice shade but it has a few quirks. Again, I mentioned it in my other reviews, the packaging is a little uneventful and understated. It comes housed in a lighter gray/taupe-y packaging with Brooke’s autograph gracing the cap in bright orange script. I thought it would more of a zombie-nude lip but it’s a wearable shade that looks quite nice! If you want give it a smoother finish you might want to apply a little clear gloss on top so it looks less patchy as I couldn’t get it to look good to save my life unless I patted it or applied a little clear gloss on top! The color is actually very wearable for me. It does fall into my natural lip lines unfortunately so I have to build, build some more, and gently pat with my finger so it looks smooth and even. It’s not really opaque and runs sheer but it builds easily enough for better color pay off.
It’s not really coral to me but more of a pinky peach with a hint of shimmer. MAC Artful Lipglass is described by MAC as a mid-tone coral. None the less it’s a great nude shade if that’s your thing! Brooke typically embraces a strong smokey eye for red carpet events and goes with a soft pinkish nude lip! So Artful is a shade that might just make you think “Brooke Shields!” when you see it. I do think that the MAC Artful Lipglass comes quite close to something Brooke would likely wear as this is a very soft, nude peachy pink which is a shade that I’ve seen her wear often enough. MAC Artful Lipglass ($22) is one of two limited edition shades of MAC Lipglass that launched with the MAC x Brooke Shields Collection! I dunno if any of the shades that are featured in the MAC Brooke Shields Collection really remind me of her or even make me think it would be something she’d like to wear!
